Medical Assistants may be employed in any health-related site such as a health practitioner’s clinic or office, hospitals, insurance companies, and even commercial establishments. Educational requirements:

There are no state-mandated minimum requirements for working as a medical assistant, but most employers prefer candidates who hold at least a high school diploma or educational equivalent. Candidates who have formal training from a community college, technical institution or vocational school might have an advantage at hiring time, but many employers are willing to train new medical assistants on the job. Medical assistants with experience and training, and who pass a specified examination from an independent certifying organization can become credentialed in their field. While certification is not required by any state, employers tend to prefer medical assistants who hold professional credentials, according to the BLS.
