Home Health Aides
Duties and Responsibilities
The home health aide is a paraprofessional member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs. The home health aide is responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.
The home health aide will be assigned in a manner which promotes quality, continuity and safety of a patient’s care.
Essential duties/responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the home health aide include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.    Providing personal care including:
A.    Baths
B.    Back rubs
C.    Oral hygiene
D.    Shampoos
E.    Changing bed linen
F.     Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
G.    Skin care to prevent breakdown
H.    Assisting the patient with toileting activities
I.     Keeping patient’s living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
The home health aide will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the State's Nurse Practice Act. Specifically, the home health aide will not administer medications, take physician's orders or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a nurse, such as sterile techniques

Duties and Responsibilities:
Healthcare administrators direct and manage hospitals and other healthcare facilities.  They are responsible for long-range planning, financial administration, personnel administration, materials management, purchasing, public affairs and patient administration. 
Small hospitals may have only one administrator, while larger facilities may have many.  Some administrators specialize in specific fields like patient administration or purchasing. 
Health care administrators also work in HMOs, health agencies, clinics, or for private practices.
Average Salary:   $35,000 - $100,000 

Educational Requirements:
Students should take challenging high school courses in business, science, math, and English. 
Most healthcare administrators hold master's degrees in healthcare administration or business administration. About 40 percent of health care administrators work within hospitals. Other employment settings include physicians’ offices, small or large group medical practices, long-term nursing care facilities, home health care agencies, and outpatient clinics or centers. Within these settings, they manage whole facilities or a specific department. Most health care administrators work full-time business hours, but those responsible for 24-hour facilities should expect to work on an urgent or emergent basis during off hours including weekends, nights or holidays.
